Editorial & Publication Policies

Clear rules for review, rights and the scholarly record.

These policies explain how AIRES evaluates submissions, handles research integrity and maintains published work.

Peer review & editorial decisions

AIRES uses single-anonymised peer review: reviewers can see author identities; reviewer identities are ordinarily withheld from authors. Research content normally receives at least two independent reports from experts outside the journal editorial staff.

Editors check scope, engineering relevance, method, ethics disclosures and file quality. A third opinion may be requested when reports conflict. Decisions are Reject, Major Revision, Minor Revision or Accept. A revision invitation is not acceptance.

Editors recuse themselves where conflicts exist. APC payment, waivers, sponsorship and commercial interests do not determine scholarly outcomes. Automated checks support, but do not replace, human assessment.

Open access, copyright & licensing

Published research is immediately available without reader payment, registration or embargo. Authors retain copyright and grant SCIENTARA PUBLISHING a non-exclusive licence to publish and maintain the scholarly record.

Articles use the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence (CC BY 4.0). Reuse requires attribution, a licence link and an indication of changes. Authors may share preprints, accepted manuscripts and the version of record, subject to third-party rights and lawful restrictions.

Publication fees & waivers

The standard APC is USD 300 per accepted externally reviewed article. There is no submission or review fee and no separate page, colour or supplement charge. Editorials, correction notices, expressions of concern and retraction notices do not carry an APC.

An invoice is issued only after acceptance and production checks. Waivers or discounts may be requested through the editorial office and are considered individually. Fee administration is separate from peer review. Applicable taxes or payment-processing charges must be disclosed in advance.

The fee policy at initial submission is retained unless the author agrees to a change. Refunds and exceptions follow the published policy.

Publication ethics & research integrity

Authors must accurately report methods and findings, retain relevant records, disclose material conflicts and obtain required permissions and approvals. Authorship requires substantive contribution, manuscript participation, approval of the final version and accountability.

Fabrication, falsification, plagiarism, deceptive image alteration, undisclosed duplicate publication and manipulation of citations or peer review are unacceptable. Research involving people, identifiable data, animals or sensitive operational information must meet applicable approval, consent and legal requirements.

COPE guidance informs ethics handling; this does not mean AIRES is a COPE member. Significant errors are addressed through linked corrections, expressions of concern or retractions.

Generative AI & automated tools

AI tools may support language editing, coding, discovery, analysis or figure preparation when authors verify outputs, respect rights and confidentiality, and disclose material use. AI systems cannot be authors; people remain accountable for every claim, reference, calculation and figure.

A Generative AI Use statement is required. Research using AI as a method should report provider, model/version or access date, settings, validation and relevant artifact availability. Do not fabricate data or citations, or upload confidential manuscripts and data to services without appropriate authorisation and safeguards.

Automated editorial indicators are considered in context; a human editor makes each scholarly decision.

Data, code & supplementary material

Research manuscripts include Data Availability and Code Availability statements. Give a repository, persistent identifier, version and access conditions, or explain a justified restriction. Public release is encouraged when lawful and practicable.

For restricted data, describe an access process or a useful alternative such as a schema, synthetic example or reproducible surrogate. When a manuscript reports software, benchmarks or engineering testbeds, it should document the version, licence, dependencies, installation, environment and evaluation protocol. Supplementary files must be cited and screened for personal information and credentials.

Conflicts & editorial independence

Authors disclose relevant financial and non-financial interests, including employment, consulting, patents, equity, advisory work and relationships. Editors and reviewers disclose conflicts before handling a manuscript; recent collaboration, shared affiliation and direct commercial competition require assessment.

Conflicted editors recuse themselves and manuscripts are reassigned. An editor or board member submitting to AIRES has no role in reviewer selection or the decision. Payment capacity, waivers, advertising, sponsorship and invited status do not alter scholarly evaluation.

Corrections, versions & appeals

The version of record is maintained. Substantive changes are dated, documented and linked; errors are not silently substituted. Corrections address errors where the central findings remain reliable. Retractions explain the evidence-based reason and remain linked to the article except in exceptional legal, privacy or safety cases.

Authors may appeal an editorial decision within 30 calendar days by identifying a factual error, procedural issue or overlooked evidence. An independent editor considers the appeal; a successful appeal may lead to further review but does not guarantee acceptance.

Preservation, indexing & transparency

Indexing services and journal-specific preservation coverage will be listed after each status and deposit arrangement has been verified. The journal DOI prefix is 10.68261; article DOI registration follows acceptance and metadata checks. Online ISSN assignment is reported separately.

AIRES publishes article records and relevant corrections or retractions as linked updates. Editorial processes and policy changes are documented to support a clear scholarly record.
